Elf-story
SimorÁg Dance circus
Elf-story wins the national kaleidoscope festival award in 2019. The new circus company combines circus techniques with theatre, dance and puppetry.
“The magic tricks, puppet shows, acrobatic, juggling and dance scenes are integrated into the performance, which blends dream and wakefulness, fantasy and reality into a malleable mass, in such a way that there is always a reason and a meaning.” / theater crtics, szinhaz.net MAUL ÁGNES MAUL: MESEBELI PRÓBATÉTELEK/
Elves live everywhere, they come out of the bushes, they are forest elves, field elves, hiding in attics, or water elves, drawer elves, pocket elves, apartment dwellers and sometimes they will come alongside you. They chatter, they break, they smash, they break and dismantle, they grind sleep or brew brandy. They quarrel, they make up, they’re fidgety, weird, meddlesome creatures. To be honest, we’ve never seen a tantruming child, a grumpy one, a bawling one, but we’ve pinched enough elves around children… and what they do….is worth watching at least once! As usual, the Simorág Dance Circus has created its own story in its performance, but one that builds heavily on the countless tales of elves and goblins we have explored. The show has humour and it’s unique story is recommended for children and adults! The musical director of the performance is jazz musician János Vázsonyi, who plays several instruments during the production.
